"Nothing sours diplomatic relations like a murdered ambassador."
— Le Crochet

Doppelganger is a side-mission in Act I of The Saboteur, and the second mission in Le Crochet's storyline.

Description[]

With Colonel Gower dead, Sean is prompted to meet Le Crochet at his new base of operations, the market at Les Halles. The pair discuss Sean's success in the Red Light District, before the conversation moves to the Free French forces fighting in North Africa. Le Crochet explains that his men are involved in the fight, and are unable to hold out for much longer. A Libyan ambassador has arrived in Paris to broker a deal with the German army, and Le Crochet asks Sean to kill him to ruin the chance of a deal being made.

Sean notes that he'll need some long-range firepower to take the ambassador out at the Place des Vosges meeting place, but Le Crochet has already made arrangements and tells Sean to meet his contact at an abandoned chemical factory to pick up the equipment. Devlin makes his way to the Legion contact and picks up a Scoped Carbine. The contact then reveals that the ambassador is a paranoid man, and is rumoured to be travelling with a body double. However, the real ambassador is supposedly wearing a red armband given to him by Adolf Hitler.

With the information in mind, Sean heads to the Place des Vosges and sneaks his way up to the vantage point to avoid raising an alarm. Scoping out the meeting area, he sees that the ambassador has several body doubles in the area. However, Sean is able to identify the real ambassador and eliminates him. He then leaves the vantage point and escapes the area.
